Privacy policy
AutoDMTool is a self-hosted tool that answers Instagram comments and direct messages on behalf of the Instagram account that connects to it. This installation is operated privately; it is not a shared service, and the data below never leaves the operator's own server except where this page says otherwise.
What is stored
- Your dashboard account — name, email address and a hashed password.
- Your connected Instagram account — username, account id, profile picture, follower and media counts, the permissions you granted, and the access token Instagram issues. The token is what lets the app reply for you.
- Comments the app reacts to — the text, the commenter's username and Instagram id, and which rule matched.
- Direct messages sent and received through the connected account, so the inbox can show the conversation.
- Media you upload for scheduled posts, until you delete it.
- Counts and timestamps used for the dashboard's analytics, including clicks on links the app rewrote in outgoing DMs.
What it is used for
Only to run the automations the account owner configured: matching comments, sending the replies and DMs, publishing scheduled posts, and showing the results back on the dashboard. Nothing is sold, rented, or used for advertising.
Who else sees it
- Meta / Instagram — the app calls Instagram's official API to read comments and send messages on your behalf.
- An AI provider, only if the operator enabled the AI tools. When they are on, the text of a comment is sent to the configured provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI, or a model the operator hosts themselves) to classify it or draft a reply. With the AI tools off, no comment text is sent anywhere but Instagram.
- An email provider, only if the operator configured SMTP for the daily summary email.
There are no analytics trackers, advertising pixels or third-party scripts on the dashboard.
Cookies
One cookie, used to keep you signed in to the dashboard. No tracking cookies.
How long it is kept
Account and conversation data is kept until it is deleted. Short-lived bookkeeping — processed webhook ids, rate-limit counters, the AI action log — is pruned automatically.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect the Instagram account in the dashboard, under Settings → Channel.
- Or remove the app from Instagram (Settings → Website permissions). Instagram then calls this server's deauthorize and data-deletion endpoints, and the account's data is removed.
- Or write to meashishsigdel@gmail.com and ask for it to be deleted.
